Five Ways to Improve Your Health in 2025

We're a month into the new year already! Can you believe it? Here are five things you can do today that can lead to better health throughout the rest of the year, and beyond!

HYDRATE

…with clean filtered or spring water. Divide your weight in pounds by 3 to get the number or ounces (minimum!) that you want to drink every day. Bonus points if you drink some herbal and green teas in addition to that!

MOVE

…in a variety of ways every day. Get 150 minutes per week of moderate-intensity physical activity (that’s 30 minutes 5 days per week, or 20 minutes per day every day), like a brisk walk. Include weight-bearing exercises at least 3 days per week–these are so important for bone density! And finally, some stretching or yoga a few days a week to improve your flexibility and balance.

CLEAR

…the air! We unknowingly load our homes with potent toxins when we use scented candles, air fresheners, fragranced dryer sheets, perfumes and colognes, and other sources of chemical fragrances. The volatile organic compounds (VOCs) in these products can cause migraine headaches, asthma attacks, breathing and respiratory difficulties, dermatitis, and neurological problems. Like it fragrant? Get yourself a diffuser and some high quality essential oils!

NOURISH

…your body by eating the rainbow! Strive to hit all the colors every day! The easiest way to do this is to eat a nice big salad every day with dark leafy greens (green), topped with things like tomatoes (red), carrots (orange), and squeeze some fresh lemon juice on there (yellow). Throw some sliced up bananas and fresh blueberries on your oatmeal in the morning (white and blue/purple) and would you look at that… you’ve eaten the rainbow!

QUIT

…or at least reduce smoking, alcohol consumption, and processed meats in the diet. These are all carcinogens (cancer-causing), and contribute to a host of other issues and ailments.
